The Rev. Tasha Brown, MDiv ("Pastor Tasha") is the Sabbatical Interim Pastor of Trinity Community Church, UCC while Pastor Bill and Pastor Penny are away on sabbatical from May 11, 2010 through August 11, 2010.
The Rev. Brown graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a BA in Human Resource Development and Minor in Speech Communication and later graduated from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Lombard with a Master of Divinity (MDiv). Being ordained in May 2002 at her home church, the historic First Baptist Congregational Church, where she currently serves as the Minister of Ecumenical Witness, she also works full-time for the City of Chicago Department of Children and Youth Services as the Supervisor of Children Services Programs where she supervises a team of four that monitor and provide technical assistance to more than 180 child care programs. She is also the Founder and President of The Women’s Leadership Network which provides mentoring, educational, and networking opportunities for both women in business and women in ministry. And last, in addition to her time of being the spouse of Excell Brown, Jr. and mother to Christopher, 6 and Kai, 3 she is also a student and a candidate in the Doctor of Ministry (DMin) in Pastoral and Spiritual Care Program at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago.
