Rev. Penny L. Taylor (“Pastor Penny”) holds a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Chicago Theological Seminary and a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) from Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois. She holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Bowen Family Systems Theory from the Center for Family Consultation in Evanston, Illinois and is currently working towards a Ph.D. in Theology, Ethics, and Human Sciences at the Chicago Theological Seminary.
Her formative years included attending the United Methodist Church and Baptist Church. She became United Methodist in 1992 and United Church of Christ (UCC) in 2001. She is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and serves as Co-Pastor at Trinity with her husband the Rev. William G. Ressl (“Pastor Bill”).
Penny has served at the Southwest Suburban Center on Aging in LaGrange, Illinois and at Community Care Options / Fillmore Center in Berwyn, Illinois. Her past employment includes: The Chicago Tribune; Navistar International; Sears; and, self-employed as a master wicker weaver. Penny and Bill are also the Co-Founders of the Renovatio Institute (a private but affiliated service of Trinity Community Church, UCC) that offers individual, couples, family, and group therapy as well as work and faith based systems consultations.
